I'm from London but lived in Chicago for five years and this is the most true thing I have read in my life, "and they will see you as you truly are for the first time, in context" is the cruelest undoing of a thing that has been proffered to me so many times. Also congratulations to you two!

I realise I’m a stranger on the internet, but as a woman of Sussex it makes me very happy to know you were in love in Brighton. Congratulations!

This is so funny (and true!!) and also lovely! I'm smiling a big grin about your spirit of adventure love trip, even though I haven't met either of you ever, almost like you're Americans I've spotted elsewhere. My state is California too!!

Yay. I knew it from the photo on the plane but respected your privacy. As a Canadian does. Yay!

This is so beautiful! I was in Paris a few months ago at a great bar, and we were next to this other American couple and they did NOT extend the normal American over familiar greeting and we were shocked that we weren't automatic best friends.
