no! but then again I have never been a kindergarten teacher. I think it's more "these things are always true of large groups of people" than "seniors are more like children than other people"

ope, i did not realise these were senior residents as opposed to hostel residents or artists in residence, etc, so i apologise for not checking the necessary context before making an unintentionally poor taste comment! i agree that these things are true of large groups of people regardless of age, but i’d add that it’s most apparent in large groups of people who feel comfortable enough with an authority figure to be inquisitive and playful :)

You do a lot of wonderful writing but these little snippets from work are maybe my favorite. My mom is 82 and recently moved to a senior community (for Christians only, you must have a letter from your pastor before you even attempt to buy a place. So far I've safely visited in spite of my godless nature.) I'm 56 and technically a senior for purposes of discount codes at the thrift store, but I'm always fascinated by the glimpses of the generations above me.

I take every superstition I encounter very seriously, so I will now always wind forward, never back on a clock or watch. Stay safe, Danny!

I grew up reading Betsy-Tacy! I was only interested in the books where they were still little kids. Hope to catch up on the full series someday.
