While having a rough day recently when I was feeling low and my eyes hurt my husband finally read out loud to me and it was one of the highest pleasures of my entire life. I’m a real ham that’s always trying to get some captive audience to listen to /me/ read (with almost no success), but this was even better. Sadly, my experience is consistent with yours in that I haven’t found anyone else that wants to read out loud. Incidentally, one of the things I had him do was reread me your wonderful Mikey and Nicky piece since we just watched it!
Scarecrow Video in Seattle rents DVDs out around the country and it looks like they have 2 copies of Raise the Red Lantern, fwiw!
(Thank you for this delightful piece!)

I love learning about the goings on. I work and volunteer at senior living spaces. Your programming is amazing!
The thought of watching Interiors with that crowd is sending me. Once watched it with a group of my friends while doing bong hits.

we do not have a DVD player I don't think!
If your local library has a Library of Things collection, you may be able to borrow a DVD player!
