It’s been a while since I saw a movie trailer that so perfectly adhered to the traditional beats of “movie trailerness,” a genre all its own, where movie trailers have more in common with other movie trailers than they do with whatever subtype their representative movies supposedly belong to (horror, romance, etc).
This is the first time I have watched this trailer, and I cannot believe this is a real movie and not a parody of sentimental bio-pics. I lost it at the slow-motion cat in a harness.
I fully intend to watch this, because its absurdity will be absolute, _and_ it will have cats, and really what more could one ask for?
(n.b.: I began the pandemic with one cat, and now have five cats, because I played Real Life Neko Atsume until all of the neighborhood ferals moved in full time. One needs a hobby to stay sane, in these times.)
I saw the actual movie, and it was great! I showed my wife the trailer afterwards, and she agreed that it almost looked like deliberate sabotage on the part of the marketing team. The director wrote and directed the amazing dark comedy Flowers for television, also worth a watch.

Lucky you! There will be a movie about you soon...
I... dunno. I think there may be a slyly nutty movie trying to wink at us from the inside of a trailer that's desperately trying to conform.
For some reason, this trailer is giving me Joker (2019) vibes.
"I used to think that my life was a tragedy, but now I realize, it's a cat-medy."

Also, sorry, not actually as much about cats as expected, regrets
