This rumination -- this defense of all that is reasonable -- is what the internet is made for. It's what Substack is made for. One thousand times YES. (Also, I just realized rumination has a double resonance here. Thank you for that opportunity.)

LOL. I can’t say I have ever considered this before, but I think you are exactly right.

I must (for humor) with the kindest and least judgmental intention raise concern for the erasure here of less binary expressions of satyrhood. Why must the expression of one's satyrdom solely be split somewhere vaguely in their middle? Why can one's satyrness not be expressed through a varied smattering of satyrnine characteristics in one's feet, head, perhaps genital regions? If a dog wore pants, how would they wear them?

Obviously important work in light of the depictions of Grover in Percy Jackson. Also, challenging to have a Youth depict a satyr! What a mythological side-step of Disney.

This is the most life-giving thing I've read in quite a while.

I think Aachen had it right. Pan ought to wear his goat legs like chaps. With fur extending gracefully up the sides of the hips to the natural waist, perhaps, but certainly not covering the buttocks.
